The New Ecstatics

Philippines Update

“Go and tell John the things you hear and see; The blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised and the Poor have the Gospel preached to them!”

As a ministry we have just returned to the UK after our first visit to the Philippines. We can honestly say that this was by far one of the most profoundly impacting trips of our Lives. Landing into Manila the nations capital and looking out over what appeared to be a ‘Slum’ was very moving and brought an instant realization that we were about to encounter ‘The Poorest of the Poor.’ We have travelled to many Third World Countries over the past 10 Years and have encountered some pretty desperate situations but nothing we have known thus far could have prepared us for this venture! Seeing the streets of Manila rammed with Street Children and witnessing families sleeping together on the blackened floors of the Capital left a real mark. Hearing that the Government of the nation has almost given up it’s hope that it can in any way turn the tide of the crazy poverty manifesting and spreading, made us realize that without Him this nation was going nowhere fast!

While we were in the Country we visited some of the Poorest and most precious guys on the Planet. The ‘Wawa Garbage Dump’ is inhabited by over 1500 families, these families and the homeless Children they attract basically live on top of sewerage and rubbish. These have no real way of helping themselves, a people abandoned by society and the Government yet dearly loved, accepted and Included by Him. To be with ‘Them’ is to be with ‘Him,’ “As much as you have done this to the least of these my Brethren you have done it unto ME!” We saw it! He hasn’t forsaken them, “Though your Father and Mother forsake you I will never forsake you!” David was so right, “I have been young and now I am old yet I have NEVER seen the righteous forsaken or their seed begging bread!”

The first time we visited Wawa we tranced out for 5 hours, He was there, Heaven was there, no sorrow, no suffering, no lack Just Jesus! Again and again we saw it, He has associated Himself with the Poor and theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven! We saw it, “The wilderness and solitary places shall be glad for THEM, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose. For in the wilderness shall waters break forth and streams in the desert.” These solitary places, abandoned by man are about to Bloom like Eden, we quickly realized that even though we went in with ‘Aid’ that we were the ones being ‘Aided’ with fresh revelation of the Gospel and His association with the Poor which for us has changed everything! There were no barriers, no restrictions, no hindrance to His love, a breeding ground of faith and expectation, an opportunity for His kingdom to manifest and for Him to get all the Glory!
We visited the Slums, Fed hundreds of Children, gave away Clothes, Jewelry and Candy and danced and laughed with the sweetest guys on the planet. The pleasure was all ours. Whilst there we were signed onto a board of Trustees so we can now start the building of our first Orphanage in Cavite, Exciting Days! In September we are going to take a team of the most Blissed out and Ecstatic Believers of the Gospel back for a week. The Lord showed us that as we go back sharing in His best kept secret of His association with the Poor and Celebrate together all that He has accomplished that we will see a manifestation of Heaven on Earth. We will be holding a 3 Night outdoor Crusade in the area and Holding a day long ‘Celebration Feast’ on Wawa where we will be paying for a crazy Hog Roast and full day of Festivities right there amongst the Poorest of the Poor! We will also be visiting the Slums in the area and dancing with the most precious Children on the planet! We are so excited. Guys get involved at this early stage, sow into what He has opened up, come with us in September and walk with Jesus in the Slums of the Philippines, this for us is Gospel Bliss!
