Media Revolution (My experience on Big Brother 11)
Something amazing is happening within the Media Mountain in these days. The Glory of God is invading areas which many once considered way too secular for the Church to touch. Man what a breath of fresh air it is to realize that really there was never meant to be any separation between the Glory and the Media and that actually the media was created by Him to promote His Glory on a daily basis. In the coming days the Union between the move of God and the Media will be so evident and seamless that the images that impact us continually via Television, Internet, Magazines and other avenues will be stuffed full of Him! The media is becoming the greatest platform and launch pad for this end time Glory invasion, from which He will cause the whole earth to be filled with the ʻKnowledgeʼ of His Glory. There will soon be a creative explosion within the Body of Christ which will cause the Media Chiefs to come begging the Church to get involved within their structures. The media mountain will burn the brightest in the coming days and will clearly be the beacon which carries the Glory of the Gospel of the Kingdom to all of creation.
In January of 2010 God gave me a dream where I saw that this was about to happen and I knew that somehow as a family we would have a part to play in it. In the dream I saw a Christian business man holding an interview on a Secular TV program. The guy was just answering questions on the economy and stocks and shares and all that finance stuff. As he talked he was suddenly hit by the Glory of God and started shimmering in Gold dust as the Kingdom of God impacted his life. At that point this guy started preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom at the camera. It was so powerful. When I woke up the Lord spoke with me and said “My Glory is about to be revealed powerfully through the media.” A few weeks later whilst in Rome a lady sat opposite me and prophesied that “God is about to open a door to you into the media, it wonʼt be like ʻGod TVʼ and itʼs certainly not You Tube, I donʼt think itʼs been done before but be ready!” When I called home the following day my wife told me that the Reality TV program Big Brother had contacted me and that they were interested in me appearing on the last ever Big Brother to be aired on Channel 4 in the UK. By the time I left Rome to fly home I already knew that He was opening a door which no man could shut!
The next few months were ones of preparation. He enlarged my Spirit over the Media Mountain and supernaturally started to increase faith within me that He was about to do something totally supernatural within the UK. In the natural I was about to become a ʻLamb to the Slaughterʼ as an entire nation should have watched yet another Christian being torn apart for being nothing more than a bigoted, highly opinionated and homophobic individual who portrayed God as a righteous judge rather than a ʻLover of men.ʼ God had other plans.
Over 100,000 applied to go into Big Brother 11, only 21 were selected to 77 days of scrutiny on national television each day. Every second was watched live by millions as over 50 cameras watched every movement and caught every whisper. The national News Papers didnʼt have to work hard each day to frame up the next story from what was eventually termed in media circles ʻThe House of Love.ʼ The Glory of God invaded the Big Brother house, the producers and Media critics commented continually that they had never seen such a ʻTactile and loving House.ʼ The pressure at times was intense, almost unbearable but He continued to whisper to me ʻLove Never Fails.ʼ Somehow over 3 months of being locked away with a bunch of guys I would never have chosen to share time with, from all backgrounds, all inspired differently, all with strong opinions and amazingly deep personalities His love and grace shone through.
Coming out of the House after 77 days as Runner up and Top man was both a shock and great privilege. What I didnʼt expect was my reception on leaving the BB House from the Great British public, I was overwhelmed. Somehow the Glory and love which we were experiencing within the Big Brother House was conveyed by the Media right into the hearts and homes of millions in the UK. Five Million watched the ʻLive Finaleʼ where my 15 minute interview with Davina Mcall was based totally around, the Glory, The Wine of His presence and the love of God. In just 2 weeks of coming out of the House I received over 2,000 direct emails and messages from unchurched people all commenting on the impact of the program in their lives, all asking questions about the Glory and God. The first day I joined Twitter I had over 19,000 followers, pretty much all unchurched. Every time I would leave the house in whatever town I would visit in the UK I would have at least 200 people stop me for photos and chats within an hour LOL. Once the staff at Mcdonalds in Cardiff had to direct the flow of the crowds as myself and my family were literally mobbed by the public, LOL. it was nuts but opened up so many opportunities to reveal His heart of love. What a great God we are eternally and intimately joined with, He is our Hero!
The past year since the Program ended has been an astonishing whirlwind experience. We have appeared in many News Papers, Magazines and Television programs. Within a few hours of landing in Australia I was being interviewed on the equivalent of the BBC Radio which broadcasts to all of OZ, LOL. For 15 minutes yet again I was given liberty to preach the Gospel and release the New Wine of His presence. We have conducted countless radio interviews here in the UK, have attended Celebrity and Charity events and now befriend many national celebrities here. Doors continue to open for Dave ʻThe Drunkʼ Vaughan to have a platform to share His Good News with guys we would never have had influence with before the program. The intoxication now speaks, it has a voice of love and wisdom and is sought out by hungry hearts longing to hear that they are included!
He has done exceeding abundant above and beyond all that we could ask or think. At our recent Gloryfest over 20 nations were represented, Loaded Magazine attended and promoted the Gospel over 4 pages in their magazine right in the midst of pictures of nudity and stories of shame. The BBC were also present collecting footage which will help to make up a documentary on ʻThe reformation in the Church,ʼ 8 Big Brother Housemates also attended and experienced His great love. Man what a God. He got my attention 18 years ago by allowing me to enjoy a wine which was so sweet it intoxicated my life forevermore. What I could never do of myself He did, He opened it up, He provided all that was needed, He met the need. I stand amazed at His grace, His pre-ordained good works are way more beautiful and influence way more than all my religious activity could muster. He is so so good!
